Receivables review

Free Invoice Aging Bucket Calculator

Build a small receivables snapshot from due dates and remaining balances. This is an aging view for three invoices, useful for deciding what to review next without treating every unpaid invoice as overdue.

Calculation notes

How the result is calculated

Overdue days = snapshot date − due date, using UTC calendar dates. An invoice due today is current; tomorrow it is one day overdue. The tool groups remaining balances, not original totals, and totals all buckets. Three rows are a planning sample rather than a full ledger import.

Formulas and examples reviewed October 2, 2026. Illustrative figures; no tax or contractual determination.

The bucket boundary

As of October 2, 2026, a balance due September 2 is exactly 30 days overdue and belongs in 1–30. A balance due September 1 is 31 days overdue and belongs in 31–60.

After an installment

A USD 900 invoice with USD 300 confirmed against it contributes USD 600 to its age bucket. Entering USD 900 would overstate receivables by USD 300.

Questions about this calculation

Should I age by issue date?

This tool ages by due date. A 30-day payment term should not look 30 days overdue on the day it falls due. Use a consistently defined method when comparing reports.

Does the oldest bucket mean I should escalate?

No. Check the dispute status, promised payment date, client contact, and evidence first. The aging amount helps prioritize a review; it does not choose a collections action.

How to use it

1

Choose the snapshot date and one currency.

2

Enter each remaining balance and contractual due date; zero excludes an invoice.

3

Review disputes and payment promises before choosing a follow-up action.
