Calculation notes

How the result is calculated

Hourly equivalent = day rate ÷ entered hours, rounded to cents. Weekly comparison = day rate × entered days; weekly hours = day hours × those days. Reconstruct the day using the displayed hourly rate and entered hours, rounding to cents; show reconstructed amount minus day rate. No eight-hour day, five-day week, overtime, employment rule, partial-day permission or tax treatment is assumed.

Formulas and examples reviewed October 2, 2026. Illustrative figures; no tax or contractual determination.

An entered 7.5-hour day

USD 750 over 7.5 stated hours gives USD 100 per hour. Five entered days give USD 3,750 and 37.5 hours for comparison, with zero reconstructed-day difference.

A rounded equivalent

USD 100 over three hours gives a displayed USD 33.33 hourly equivalent. Reconstructing three hours gives USD 99.99, or USD −0.01 against the agreed day rate.

Questions about this calculation

Can I use the equivalent to bill a half day?

Only if the actual agreement permits that pricing basis. This comparison does not establish permission or minimum charges.

Does the comparison week determine required workdays?

No. It uses the days you enter solely for this scenario; it sets no working-time or employment requirement.

How to use it
