A day rate billing basis worksheet preserves what the agreed day actually covers. It records hours, service scope, booking conditions and any explicitly permitted partial-day treatment. A numeric hourly equivalent belongs in a comparison column; it does not replace the approved day-rate charge.
Keep the actual quote or agreement reference with the daily price and the rule for counting billable days. If a weekly comparison is useful, enter its day count explicitly. Neither an eight-hour day nor a five-day week is a universal assumption for this record.
The fictional accepted basis is USD 750 for a stated 7.5-hour day. A five-day comparison gives USD 3,750 and 37.5 hours. The hourly equivalent of USD 100 happens to reconstruct the same daily price; other inputs can produce a cent difference after rounding and should remain labeled as comparisons.

Outcome
Use this page to move from general research into a calmer, more repeatable invoicing process.
How to complete the template
Preserve the agreed day definition
Record rate, currency, hours, scope, day-count convention and actual booking or minimum-charge terms. Link the accepted pricing version and authorized decision.
Label any rate comparison
Calculate an hourly equivalent and an explicitly entered week scenario. Record rounding drift when reconstructing the day from the displayed hourly amount.
Check the invoice basis
Match the approved count and day rate to service evidence. Apply partial-day or extra-hour rules only when actually authorized, and review tax separately.

Avoid this
Multiplying a rounded equivalent for the final charge
Reconstruction may differ from the agreed day rate. Keep the authorized pricing basis authoritative.
Avoid this
Assuming half the hours means half the price
Partial-day terms and minimum bookings need their own authority. Arithmetic cannot establish a permitted charge.

Questions people usually have before changing the workflow.
Does the worksheet decide employment working time?
No. It records a service-pricing basis and comparisons; employment and working-time requirements are outside its scope.
Can the day hours differ by service?
Retain each actual agreed basis and do not silently combine differing definitions.
What if the pricing version changes?
Preserve the prior version and the actual new approval and effective scope before using a revised basis.
