One client transfer can cover several invoices. Check the proposed split against the confirmed gross receipt before posting it, while keeping each invoice's open balance and the client's instructions available separately.

Calculation notes

How the result is calculated

Allocated = sum of three proposed invoice allocations. Unallocated remainder = max(0, receipt − allocated). Excess allocation = max(0, allocated − receipt). Use one confirmed gross receipt and one currency; a processor's net payout or a client's remittance notice is not automatically the confirmed invoice receipt. Check invoice-specific balances separately.

A remainder needs identification

A confirmed USD 1,700 receipt split USD 1,000 and USD 500 leaves USD 200 unallocated. Keep that amount assigned for clarification rather than silently reducing another invoice.

An impossible split

USD 1,000 received with proposed allocations USD 700 and USD 400 exceeds the receipt by USD 100. Revisit the instructions and the receipt; the calculator does not create more cash.
