A statement of account summarizes existing billing activity. It can help a client reconcile several invoices and payments without asking them to infer the account balance from separate emails. It should be labelled as a summary, with a clear period and snapshot date.
This version is an activity statement: opening balance plus invoices in the period, less allocated receipts and approved credits, equals the closing balance. Keep unallocated money and unapplied advances outside that arithmetic until their treatment is confirmed. Show current and overdue amounts separately if you include an age summary.
The filled example starts at USD 500, adds USD 1,000 of invoices, deducts USD 800 of allocated receipts and USD 100 of approved credit, and closes at USD 600. It does not issue new charges or replace the underlying invoice and correction documents.

How to complete the template
Choose a period and snapshot
Name the client entity, one currency, statement period and preparation date. Start with a verified opening balance rather than carrying forward an unexplained number.
List referenced activity
Show invoice IDs, due dates, receipt allocations and credit references with signed effects on the account. Avoid deducting a receipt twice through both its bank record and its allocation.
Reconcile before sharing
Check the closing balance against the open invoice records. Include a contact for questions and explain that the statement summarizes existing documents, with their original terms unchanged.

Avoid this
Adding every old invoice to the opening balance
If an old charge is already included in the opening balance, adding it again as new activity doubles the account amount.
Avoid this
Treating all money as allocated
An unidentified receipt or unapplied deposit needs its own review. Do not deduct it from a specific invoice without the allocation evidence.

Questions people usually have before changing the workflow.
Is the closing balance all overdue?
No. Some open invoices may not yet be due. Use their due dates and the statement date for a separate age summary.
Can I combine currencies?
Keep a separate statement and reconciliation for each currency. Do not add nominal USD and EUR figures into one total.
Does the statement change payment terms?
No. Reference the original terms and any approved changes separately. The summary is not a replacement invoice.
